Sonya Clancy has been appointed executive general manager – human resources, marketing & communications, of Equity Trustees Limited. Ms Clancy was previously executive general manager – human resources at Equity Trustees and had also been acting as executive general manager – marketing & communications since November 2014.
Ms Clancy has 17 years financial services experience in Australia, primarily in a range of senior HR and communications roles at ANZ. At ANZ, she was involved in the facilitation of the formulation and execution of the division’s marketing strategy, which included the implementation of ANZ’s new brand strategy to create a global ANZ brand.
Robin Burns, managing director at Equity Trustees, says that Ms Clancy’s appointment was a straight-forward decision due to her success in the dual interim role.
“In addition to her significant experience in human resources management, Sonya has also privately consulted on many marketing, communications, brand and cultural development projects.
“Sonya’s appointment occurs as the integration of the ANZ Trustees acquisition continues to proceed to plan. She will be responsible for ensuring that the overall marketing objectives will be achieved as well as overseeing the communications activities across all consumer and business segments.
“The appointment is particularly timely as organic business growth is continuing in all the business units,” Mr Burns says.
Ms Clancy has a B.A. from the University of Melbourne. She is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
