HLB Mann Judd Melbourne has appointed Eric Maillard as partner in its business advisory services division.

Mr Maillard has over 20 years’ experience in business services and has previously worked at both Shadforth and Deloitte.

Managing partner of HLB Mann Judd Melbourne, Jeff Long, said that Mr Maillard’s appointment further enhances the firm’s business strategy of growing the business advisory division.

“We are particularly pleased that Eric chose to move to HLB Mann Judd above other possible second tier and mid-tier suitors due to our long-standing reputation as a firm offering outstanding service to private clients for the past 35 years.

“Eric has a successful track-record dealing with the usually complex and stressful issues of business succession, family law support and the buying and selling businesses while delivering the usual tax compliance services with a genuine personal caring fun approach.

“He will also be bringing across a number of his experienced team.”

Mr Maillard said that he had been looking to move back into a mid-tier firm after working with private clients for over 20 years.

“Independence is of paramount importance to my clients and they will continue to enjoy exceptional professional service from their existing team as well as having access to experts in a variety of specialisations beyond the traditional business advisory offerings.

“HLB Mann Judd’s motto of “Great People, Great Results” really hit a chord for the team and myself and I am sure it will be the same for our clients.”

Mr Maillard was most recently a partner at Lachlan Partners which was subsequently acquired by Shadforth Financial Group. He has also worked as client director at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and BDO Kendells, and has advised a broad range of businesses and the high net wealth individuals and families behind them in assisting them reach their personal and financial objectives.

He holds a MBA, majoring in strategic marketing and human resource management, and a bachelor of business, from Deakin University.
