Mr Bhargava has more than 13 years of financial services experience in the US and Asia, across a range of asset classes and markets. Most recently he was with KE Absolute in Hong Kong, where he held multiple roles in the firm’s Asian equities trading division.

Prior to this Mr Bhargava was a managing director of WRA Investments in New York, a global investment firm seeded by Tiger Management, where he oversaw the firm’s investments in Asian public equities. He holds degrees with highest distinction in economics and mathematics from the University of Virginia.

Mr Evan Erlanson, chief investment officer of Seres, said that Mr Bhargava’s wide-ranging experience will provide a high level of support to the analytics and research undertaken by the Seres team.

“Nalin’s economics background, combined with his senior management and equity markets experience, will add significantly to the analysis, due diligence and transaction capability of our business.

“With Nalin’s appointment, we are ensuring we have the resources in place to continue expanding our investment capability at a time when interest in Asia by Australian investors is growing,” Mr Erlanson said.

It was formed in 2009 through a joint venture with Australian Unity Investments, and is based and registered in Hong Kong. Seres adopts an active, benchmark-unaware approach in Asian equities in order to achieve investment returns and performance regardless of the market cycle.
