Melbourne-based investment and advisory business Wingate Group is expanding its presence into Sydney with a new business, Wingate Asset Finance, and recruited two senior industry executives as joint heads.

Melbourne-based investment and advisory business Wingate Group is expanding its presence into Sydney with a new business, Wingate Asset Finance, and recruited two senior industry executives as joint heads.

Wingate Asset Finance will offer advisory services in the structured finance, loan portfolio, leasing and infrastructure sectors while also actively identifying attractive investment opportunities for Wingate and its investment partners.

To head up the new business, Wingate has appointed Nicholas Goh and Stuart Gray, who both join Wingate from Gresham Asset Finance Limited.

Mr Goh has over 19 years’ experience in investment banking, focusing on the origination, structuring, advisory and placement of alternative assets. His experience spans infrastructure, utilities, mining, financial services and leasing. Prior to joining Wingate, he was managing director of Gresham Asset Finance Limited.  Previous roles include managing director of corporate finance at Allco Finance Group and head of project and acquisition finance at Transfield.

Mr Gray has 25 years of investment banking experience across the structured finance, securitisation, infrastructure and leasing sectors. He has acted in principal investment, advisory and arranging capacities. Prior to joining Wingate, he was a special advisor to Gresham Asset Finance, chief executive officer at Babcock & Brown Singapore Pte Ltd and the managing director and head of debt capital markets at Societe Generale Australia Limited.
